Plot

Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives at the Bear Retirement Home. Join the Brown family on an exciting adventure as a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey. However, he introduced the idea for this third film and was involved as an executive producer.

The Paddington we never needed

Paddington (2014) follows. My son was 7 when Paddington 2 came out and it’s one of my favorite movies of all time, so the 7 year wait for the 3rd brought with it the hope that Paddington in Peru could be as good as the first two movies. It isn’t.

Children now young adults reduced to very little dialogue

The jokes we got from core characters like Mrs Bird are practically non-existent. Sally Hawkins brought such a charming quirkiness to the character of Mary Brown that whatever the franchise says – she was truly irreplaceable. It would have served the show’s legacy better if Mary Brown had simply been gone or given up on this adventure.

Banderas and Gina’s character don’t work either, although I don’t think either actor is to blame

The genius slapstick of the second film is largely gone, or its recreation is repeated, but not as well. Maybe I’m alone in this opinion, but I actually wanted to see a bit of Paddington’s relationship with his Aunt Lucy, and I didn’t get that either. I was relieved to see "and Phoenix Buchanan as Phoenix Buchanan in the works." Also bring Sally Hawkins back to Paddington 4 and then end the series.

It’s a shame to go from the brilliantly charming and fun Paddington in Peru
